Introduction to Thermal Imaging Survey Equipment
What is Thermal Imaging?
  • Thermal imaging can be used to find and diagnose faults and problems completely damage free.
  • Thermal Imaging also allows us to visualize problems before a malfunction, fire or flood risk occurs.
  • With thermal imaging we can source energy loss from a building helping to save heating costs.
Benefits of Thermal Imaging
Trace and access for central heating systems and water pipes  -  Our equipment can easily find leaks within any system hot or cold. It can identify damp areas to both walls and floors. We can pin point most water loss within timber floor cavities or concrete screeds without the need to damage the surface. This method is very cost effective and in the long run will save on time, labour and repair costs, e.g. unnecessary out dated methods such as physically removing ceilings, walls and flooring materials to try to find where the leak is coming from. We have tested this method and can actually save you or your insurers up to 80% on repair costs by eliminating any damage that would have been caused by pre-existing trace and access methods.
Water Ingress from external sources  -  Our equipment can quickly detect water ingress from external sources such as rising damp, breached DPM (damp proof membrane) and external failure of the mortar pointing to the brick work.

Heat and energy loss  -
Thermal imaging can be used for detecting heat loss to any property and once the survey has been carried out we can advise you of how to remedy any risk areas and save on your energy bills over the years to come.

Fault diagnostics for heating and water boilers  -
By using the thermal imagining equipment we can detect blockages within the heating system or within the actual boiler it's self. The equipment will detect lime scale and sludge build up.
Thermal Imaging Equipment

Thermal imaging equipment (Cameras) convert infrared radiation into electrical signals making them visible. The equipment that we use is a specialist camera based around the thermal images that are picked up on the infrared screen. This information is then transferred back to the image screen and highlights the hot and cold spots which our trained technician can then identify any water or heat loss.

Our Thermal Imaging Surveys

Once we have arranged a survey date and time (usually within a maximum of 48 hours from first point of contact) we would require the surface to be relatively clear to enable our thermal imaging equipment to pick up on only what it is intended to. Areas should be clear of furniture, belongings etc… Our surveys normally take up to 1 hour on site and in some case more time should be allowed. Once we have conducted the survey we will load the information collected by our equipment onto our system and produce a comprehensive report detailing our findings.
